ABOUT AERIN ROSE
In 2000 Aerin Rose began developing a collection that would make any woman of any size or shape look great and feel comfortable in a swim suit. She did this by offering designs where tops and bottoms can be purchased separately, one-piece bathing suits were made to flatter, and all the swimwear (bikini, tankini, one-piece) is sold according to bra size, for the perfect fit.
“Starting my company was the classic story of a consumer who could not find what they were looking for in the stores, so they figure out a way to make it on their own,” said Aerin.
Aerin’s mainstream breakthrough came when InStyle magazine featured her very first design in a quarter-page layout. “The reaction was incredible,” she recalls. “I was getting calls nonstop on my home phone with orders coming in.” Since that time, Aerin Rose designs have been featured in some of the top women’s fashion magazines including; Glamour, Lucky, Good Housekeeping, InStyle, Oprah, and Seventeen as well as television shows like the Tyra Banks Show. Seventeen Magazine featured the Aerin Rose line in a Fashion Q&A, in which a reader asked, " Where can I find bikinis for big boobs?”
Since 2000, the Aerin Rose line has catered to the needs of the curvaceous woman. Providing extra support and a comfortable fit without sacrificing style, the collection prides itself on hidden underwire and styles designed for those that needed lift.
Having graduated college cum-laude with a degree in marketing, fashion design was uncharted territory for Aerin. She had to seek out pattern makers, seamstresses, factory workers, sales reps, and chose to have all of the work done in the US. This is 7th Avenue Fashion, with offices in New York’s famous Garment Center, the heart of the US fashion industry.
Most important to Aerin are her customers, who she calls her inspiration. Aerin’s fashion vision has been realized: to create a swim line that many women wished for.
